Getting Started
This guide walks you through downloading Verso, installing it, and signing in so your vocabulary syncs across devices.
1. Download Verso
Go to the Download page and click Download for Windows. Save the installer file anywhere on your computer.
Download for Windows2. Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded
Verso-Setup.exefile and follow the on-screen instructions. Windows may show a security prompt — click Run anyway to continue.3. Choose a transcription model
On first launch, Verso asks you to download a Whisper model. Choose base to get started quickly. The base model is about 150 MB and works well for most languages without a GPU. You can switch to a larger model later in Settings if you need more accuracy.
4. Choose a translation provider
Verso translates vocabulary words automatically. The default provider is Argos Translate, which is free and works offline. If you want higher-quality translations, you can add a DeepL or OpenAI API key in Settings. You can change this at any time.
5. Sign in (optional)
Signing in is optional for desktop-only use, but required to sync your vocabulary to your phone. Open Settings, click Sign In, and create a free account with your email address.
