Reviewing Words

The review screen is where vocabulary actually sticks. Here is how each session works.

  1. 1. Your daily queue

Open Review to see how many cards are due today. Verso uses the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm to decide which cards to show. Words you rate as hard come back sooner. Words you rate as easy come back days or weeks later.

  2. 2. The front of the card

Each card shows the vocabulary word and the sentence from the video where it appeared. Try to recall the meaning before flipping the card.

  3. 3. Play the clip

Click Play Contextto watch the exact moment in the video where the word was spoken. Hearing the word in its original context — with the speaker's voice and the scene around it — strengthens memory far more than a written sentence alone.

  4. 4. Flip and review

Flip the card to see the translation and definition. If the word appeared more than once in the video, all scenes are listed — you can play any of them.

  5. 5. Rate the card

Rate how well you remembered the word: Again (forgot it), Hard (recalled with difficulty), Good (recalled correctly), or Easy (instantly remembered). Your rating determines when the card next appears.

  6. 6. Sync happens automatically

After each rating, Verso syncs your progress to the server. When you open the mobile app, your review queue is already up to date — no manual sync needed.
